Hi, this is Roxana with a crazy question. Have just come upon a reminder note to myself written ages ago about my own Blanchard's. My ancient Auntie, a Blanchard by marriage, had indicated our ancestor "...got on the boat as an O'Blanch and got off as Blanchard. He was fleeing the long-arm of the law", so she said.
