Hi, I'm a new subscriber. My Blanchard lineage is as follows: William/Jane Steer RI Theophilus/Patience Jefford RI Jeremiah/Phebe Bates RI>PA Jeremiah Jr./Martha Hutchins RI>PA Polly/Jacob Shiffer I continue through the Shiffer line (I'll be posting that information to Rootsweb World Connect soon). I discovered the extent of the Blanchard's through Carol Carnahan's genealogy. Her Crandall notes were great! Crandall had made a couple mistakes with re: the Shiffer line. I shared corrections with Carol and she graciously posted them here for everyone's use. And it occurred to me that it was time to participate in the mailing list myself, so that I could find others to participate in my process and offer what I have. I am now pursuing the Hutchins line (just started) and find they're abundant in Luzerne County PA during the later period (1800), I've got the process of detangling them in New England. Has anyone else pursued that line. I understand the Blanchards and Hutchins had other unions through time. I also discovered that there is another Crandall book, this from her husband (I presume) about the Crandall's of RI. I'll look up the title again and post it here. I admire all the Blanchard work evidenced through this site. My offering is the Shiffer family and maybe one day, Martha's ancestors. That's my particular research pursuit, but genealogically I'm interested in the woman in the family group. As we all know, they are often obscured in the records. So anything anyone has about the women in the Blanchard/RI line would be very appreciated. If you share these interests and ancestors, please jump in.
