    1. Thank You

    3. Dear Mitch and Robin, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. As a Blanchard descendant I certainly feel the loss of one who worked so diligently to preserve the history of our family. I had corresponded some with Pat about sorting out the Richard and Benjamin Blanchards of Northwood and Canterbury, NH. Unfortunately I got busy with other projects and did not get far with that search. Please keep me informed as to who will be continuing with the work. I say thank you on two counts. The first is for letting us know of your loss. The second is due to an assumption that like most children of family historians you probably sacrificed some things for your mother's work. So many of us have benefited from that work and for my part I am indebted to your possible sacrifice. May you be strengthened through the hours days and weeks to follow as you negotiate this life passage. Sincerely, Sherry Gould ------- "It is with great sorrow, that the Curry family notes the sudden passing of Pat Blanchard Curry on New Year's Eve, 1998. Pat's research on the Blanchard family was a source of pride for her and her family, and the family would like to thank the many people who interacted with Pat over the years on the study of this family. Pat's extensive research data will not be lost, nor will the project come to an end. The family has a viable plan for this work to be carried on in a way that will both keep the project within the family and continue to make Pat's research available to others. Those wishing to send condolences via e-mail may send them to mitch@mcn.org Sincerely, Mitch Sprague and Robin Curry (Pat's daughter)" ------------- I am deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Pat's passing. Although we never met face-to-face, our correspondence over the last year or two brought us as close as two friends could be. Pat was so generous in her sharing of her Blanchard data. She was the first to give me the information I was seeking on my great grandmother, Orpha Blanchard. It was Pat's idea to have me act as a go-between for her and the Blanchard mailing list since she was not online. She was so eager to help anyone who was researching the Blanchard name and she went out of her way to provide all the information that was available to her to help others in their research. I feel a deep loss on her passing and the genealogy world will also feel this loss. However, I am heartened by Mitch's and Robin's message about carrying on the research. Please join me in offering our condolences to Pat's family. You may send an e-mail message of condolence to <mailto:mitch@mcn.org>. Cards of sympathy can be sent to Pat's home address: 3414 Fleetwood Dr., Richmond, California 94803-2012 Sadly and with heavy heart, Tom Wilde mailto:wildeman1@home.com ==== BLANCHARD Mailing List ==== Want to search the B-L Archives?
