In message /905, Carol Craig inquired about a book written by Lydia Simpson. Fitting some of the other information together that Carol provided, I believe she is referring to "All About Me and My Ancestors", compiled by Laura Blanchard Simpson, Mrs. John Carl Simpson, Fort Collins, Colorado, 1974. I first heard of this at the NYS Library? but later received some copies of pages from this book from Ila Blanchard of North Ferrisburgh, VT who had obtained them from her husband's distant cousin Marshall Blanchard of Wilton, CT. I'm not sure why Marshall was interested in this because his line is Thomas - Samuel - Jonathan. Well, so much for the background. My photocopies have an unreadable stamp at the bottom of the cover that looks like an LDS reference and above it another stamp that reads "Date Microfilm 8-75, ?? on roll 23, Camera no. SLC 19, Catalogue No. 940046", in case someone would like to investigate this with their local FHS. The "book" or at least the papers that I have, consists of 3 pages of 4-generation ancestor charts, 10 pages of family group sheets and 5 pages of text, with pages numbered 17 - 21, so I suspect that this may be only the part of Laura's "book" that was of interest to Marshall Blanchard. The pedigree charts trace the following Blanchard line: James Corydon Blanchard (1861-1943) m. Pearl Belle Goss (1886-1966) Uri Curtis Blanchard (1814-1898) m. Martha Matilda Hutson (1834-1923) William Blanchard (1779- ? ) m. Katherine Lamb (1786-1863) Abiel Blanchard (1748- ? ) m. Elizabeth Church (1744 - ? ) William Blanchard (?-?) m. Thankful Webster (?-?) George Blanchard (?-?) m. Sarah Munroe (?-?) George Blanchard (1618-1700) m. Elizabeth (Hills) Harris (1627-?) Thomas Blanchard (1586-1654) m. Elizabeth (?-?) Jean (John) Blanchard b.1555, Peninsula Calentine; d. Yorkshire, England It is interesting to note that Thomas' place of birth is given as "on Peninsula of Calentine" and that we find again a Jean Blanchard as the possible father of Thomas. Also, the questionable Elizabeth (Hills) Harris shows up again. The Family Group Sheets (limited data on some) are for: Thomas Blanchard George Blanchard George Blanchard II William Blanchard (more complete data) Abiel Blanchard (more complete data) William Blanchard (more complete data) Uriah Curtis Blanchard (for an unknown wife and 5 children) Uriah Curtis Blanchard (for wife Matha Matilda Hutson and 4 children) James Corydon Blanchard (for wife Alice Hutson and one son who d. at 11 y. and with notation that 2nd. w. was Pearl Belle Goss) James Corydon Blanchard (for wife Pearl Belle Goss and 8 children, one of whom is Laura Lyda Blanchard, b. 1922, who is probably Laura B. Simpson) The first two pages of text recount the history of various early Blanchards, none of whom are claimed to have been Laura's ancestors, except for Thomas. The last three pages are summary sheets for Thomas, George, George, William, Abiel, William, and Uriah where most of the data appears to agree with the pedigree charts and FGS. If anyone is interested in these individuals, I would be glad to check the pages for other information. I just checked the NYS Library card catalog and they <do not have> Laura's book so I will try to recall where I first heard about it. Fletch
