I have the book Putnam County Centennial History, 1834-1934 in which there is a several page article on Blanchard Township which is in Putnam County, Ohio. In this article it explains how Blanchard Township received it's name and the Blanchard River, from Jean Jacques Blanchard, who was born about 1720 in France and as a young man came to America. It's an interesting article and if anyone should like to see it I can scan and send.
