    3. To Ranald an the List, I have searched the DAR records online at Ancestry for the name Jacob Blanchard, but he is not listed in these record's. I know that he is in the DAR Index. Does the following information ring a bell with anyone on this list. Jacob Blanchard was a private in the 5th Company,, 9th Regiment of the Militia from 12 Aug. 1776 to @ Sept. 1776. He enlisted 18, May 1777 and was a private in Capt. Sylvanus Brown's Company, Col. Chandler's Regiment. He served three years and was discharged 18 May 1780 at Springfield, New Jersey. Jacob was born 5 Feb. 1752 at Stamford, CT. son of William and Abigail (Scofield) Blanchard, who were married 29 Feb. 1743/4. He was the second son of that name the first having died young. He married Elizabeth Weed 18 Feb. 1783. Elizabeth died 21 June 1833. Jacob died 19 March 1831 at Stamford and was buried in the First Congregational Church Cem., North St. Stamford CT... The children of Jacob and Elizabeth Blanchard are; 1. John--born 14 Jan. 1784, married 22 March 1822 Polly Whitney. 2. Ira--born 14 July 1785 3. Daniel--born 10 June 1787, died 1824 in Stamford CT., married Polly Coggshall on 28 May 1815 4. Solomon--born 22 Jan. 1789 married 1st Susan DeForest who is buried in Morristown New Jersey. and married 2nd Caroline Fanought. Places of residence for Solomon Blanchard are Stamford, CT.,-- Morristown, New Jersey-- and Hepburnville, Lycoming Co.Pa. 5. Isaac--born 24 July 1794. His back was broken in his youth and he becameparalyzed for life. Isaac's will was dated 21 Sept. 1831 ans proved 7 Dec. 1932. It named his mother and his brother John and his nieces and nephews. Jacob's brother William Blanchard served in the Rev. War. also. He was a Private on 12 Aug. 1776 in the 5th Company, 9th Regiment of the Militia, he was discharged 17 Sept. 1776. William was born 1749-50 and was baptized 22 Feb. 1750 at Stamford CT... William Died in 1826 and is buried in the First Congregational Church Cem, Stamford CT. The D.A.R. Patriot Index: 65 show him as a lieutenant, serving in CT. He married Sarah Smith an Died 14 Dec. 1836 (sic).
