I'm searching for my BROWER family of Little Falls/Acquackanock, NJ and have found my great great grandfather who married SARAH. In the Dutch Reformed Church records of the birth of children (Little Falls), this couple is named as GARRET BROWER and wife SARAH BLACKWELL/BLACKWIL. From the same DRC other pages refer to GARRET BROWER and SARAH BLANCHARD. - - same children - same dates. My question is: was it a common occurrence for BLANCHARD and BLACKWELL to be confused in record keeping? This happened in several instances with me.
