I did not know that I was related to BLANCHARD surname at the time or was too busy raising a family of 3 children to connect it. My husband had student teachers in the Blanchard school system. There is a Blanchard River that runs through Findlay on which the family took canoe trips. There is a Blanchard Street in Findlay as well where all the shopping centers are located. Since getting back into genealogy after a 20 year leave, I have often wondered who the Blanchards were in that area. Since my BLANCHARD connection is in RI, I have never had need to pursue it for my own family history. I hope someone on this list already knows the reasons why Blanchard's were prominent in this area. Keep Rootin'!
