The material is said to have been prepared for Mr. Chase by a professional genealogist in the 1940's. These lines of Thomas BLANCHARD begin with Thomas - Nathaniel - John - Nathaniel -Nathaniel. Judith has made this available to BLANCHARD-L and I have attempted to transcribe the rather poor photocopy. Any questionable words or phrases will be enclosed in { } brackets followed by my best interpretation enclosed in [ ] brackets. The document has been left intact and some possible misspellings, punctuation errors, etc. have been retained. In a few instances I have inserted (xx) to correct apparent spelling errors. Page Nos. begin with No. 7 since the first six pages are devoted to CHASE Genealogy. There are no generational markers or codes so it is sometimes difficult to identify people. Some of these names may sound familiar to members of BLANCHARD-L and I hope you find this information useful. Fletcher Blanchard GENEALOGY OF THE BLANCHARD FAMILY Thomas Blanchard came from Penton, a suburb of Southampton, England, on the ship "Jonathan" in 1639 with his four sons, by his first wife. His second wife, Agnes came with him. On the passage she and his infant child died. He married for his third wife, Mary, who died June 2, 1679.The grandfather of Thomas belonged to the Huguenots of France, and was obliged to flee to England in 1572. Thomas lived in Charlestown, where he died May 21, 1654. The sons of Thomas were: George, who died in Charlestown March 18, 1700, Age 82. Thomas, died in Malden February 14, 1651. Samuel, born August 6, 1627 died in Andover April 22, 1707 Nathaniel, died in Weymouth August 27, 1676 and was born in 1636. Nathaniel, son of Thomas, married Susanna Bates of Charlestown December 16, 1658. Their children were: John, born March 27, 1660 Mary, born December 1, 1662 Nathaniel, born September 25, 1665 Edward, born June 7, 1668 Mercy, born April 14, 1674, married Thomas Walles of Bra[i]ntree 2/26/1703 John, son of Nathaniel, married Abigal Phillips in 1685. She died in Weymouth, December 19, 1724. John died Mar. 10, 1733. Their children were: Sarah, born Aug. 19, 1686. Died April 21, 1701 Mary, born Aug. 1, 1689. Married Joseph Shaw of Weymouth Dec. 4, 1716 John, born Oct. 14, 1691. Died May 1752 Thomas, born 1693, died September 12, 1760. They moved to North Yarmouth, Maine (now Cumberland) about 1743.
