Sara asked about the origin of the surname GOULD. I have; Jean DOIRON b. 1642c in D'Oiron, Deux-Sevres, France arriving in Acadia 1671c (according to Genevieve MOSSIGNOIS) I have; This family lived in Port Royal in 1668 (according to Fidele THERIAULT in his book, Les Familles des Caraquet). I have: Jean DOIRON was nicknamed 'Gould' after the gold he demanded as payment for his service (according to part 1 in 1985 New Brunswick Journal article). He married Anne Marie CANOL. I have DOIRONs in the BLANCHARD ancestry, but I haven't researched in dept on the DOIRON surname, yet. Hope this helps, a bit. Martha
