Hi Members - Re/ RootsWeb Mail List Archives. The information that I sent on the situation at the Roots Web Archives needs to be modified. For many weeks, I followed the discussions on the listowners-L List, between Marc Nozell and the List owners about the new "Threaded Archives". I didn't want our List members to miss out on the opportunity to start using the new Archives so waited until it seemed that everything was running smoothly before publishing the web address on BLANCHARD-L. Apparently the site is still under development and has a number of problems so I can only suggest that you take a look at it to see what it is all about, but don't expect it to be fully operational. The address is: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/BLANCHARD-L/ and I will let you know when it is working properly. The new threaded archives started in Feb. 1999 so it has archived only messages from the past three months. The 'search box' labeled Search BLANCHARD-L operates in the usual fashion and returns all messages that contain the key words your entered in the search string. The box labeled Search all Threaded Archives will display the returns as related or "threaded" messages so it is easier to follow exchanges that took place on the List. I suggest that you continue to use the http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl address to get to the main search page for all Lists and enter BLANCHARD-L to go to the search page for our List.
