1. The Mail List Archives at RootsWeb have been undergoing some changes and I have hesitated to report to you while they were still being tested. I monitor listowners-L@rootsweb.com faithfully and think most of the 'bugs' have been eliminated so here is the new URL for BLANCHARD-L. http://archiver.rootsweb.com/BLANCHARD-L/ This takes you directly to the search page for both the regular archives and Mark Nozell's new "threaded archives". The old address will work for a short time but you should bookmark this new one. I have not had a chance to check out the new page but will try to do that soon. In the meantime, give it a try and let me know if you have any problems. Rumor is that eventually all the list archives will assume the form of the "threaded archives". If true, it will be even more important that proper Subject: lines are used since it is my understanding that "threading" depends on the contents of Subject: rather than a search of the message body. 2. I'm happy to share some wonderful news with you about Pat Blanchard Curry's genealogical collection. As you know, Pat passed away the end of last year and it was a great shock to all of us who knew her and corresponded with her about our Blanchard genealogies. Pat's two databases on our web page are a sample of the quality and thoroughness of her research and BLANCHARD-L was privileged to be able to offer them to the Internet community. Pat's daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Mitchell have notified us that Sue Kartchner will be managing Pat's research materials. Sue is Pat's niece and is enthusiastic about the new project but will be getting into it gradually so I'll try to keep you informed. 3. We seem to be having about the normal number of 'bounces' on B-L and I receive notification of all of these plus all the sub and unsub requests. I usually assume that RootsWeb is able to take care of all of these but let me know if you have any problems and I can probably help you from the Listowner's Utility Page.
