I must point out that there are no contemporary records of the voyage itself, unless you count the carrier's statement for the Bent party (excluding the Blanchards) being conveyed from Andover to London before embarking. In particular, there is no evidence that a child was born on the voyage, and no passenger list either at the departure or the arrival. As I mentioned, there was a daughter born in 1638, and she is quite possibly the child who died on the voyage, but we'll never know for sure -- it might instead have been one of the other unaccounted for children born at Goodworth Clatford. > this list for a short while, and am not privy to all that has been exchanged. All of the Blanchard-L discussions have been and are even now being archived. The archives are open to all, even those who have not subscribed. You can search the archives via the web at http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl Enter the name of the list (e.g., BLANCHARD-L) and away you go. The archives are full of information about Blanchards all over. There are also some unanswered queries from many people about a variety of Blanchards, so there is every reason to go browsing. You might link up with someone who posted a query and then left the list after nobody answered. If you want to read the archives systematically, rather than searching for keywords, you can request the files via e-mail (but only those saved since the list moved to Rootsweb, as far as I can tell). Send e-mail to blanchard-l-request@rootsweb.com with just the word HELP, and you will get instructions on how to use that service. John Chandler
