    2. 1.Thomas Blanchard came from the vicinity of Andover county of Hants, England, to New England. He married at St. Edmunds, Salisbury, Wiltshire, 15 May, 1637, Widow Ann Barnes of St. Edmunds. His licence calls him a yeoman and widower, of Clatford, county, of Southhampton, a parish two miles south of Andover. Ann Barnes was the widow of Richard Barnes and the daughter of Robert and Agnes (Gosling) Bent of Penton-Grafton, county of Hampshire. She was baptized there July 16, 1602. With her second husband, Thomas, she sailed from London, in the ship Jonathan, for New England 12 April 1639, and died on the voyage. Upon Reaching New England, Thomas settled in Braintree, but removed to Charlestown in 1651. His first wife's name doesnt appear to be known (of course we all think it is Elizabeth) After arriving in New England, he married Mary Shrimpton, who survived him. He made his will 22 May 1654, and it was proved 20 june 1654.(N.E.G.S. Register, 17:156;32:407-411) Children by his first wife, born in England: George, b near 1622;settled in Medford(Mass?) Thomas b. near 1625; settled in Malden(Mass?) Samual b. near 1636; settled in Andover(Mass?) Nathaniel b. near 1636; settled in Weymouth (Mass!) Child by Second Wife: Brent, b. 1639, d 1639 onboard the Jonathan Child of Second wife, by first husband. Richard Barnes, Jr went to Sudbury, Ma to live with his maternal Uncle upon arriving in New England. I have much info on this now, i found some really good info in my Fathers stuff, so any question reguarding this line, or off shoots, ask me, i may have info.
