Greetings Members Here are a few ideas for stepping up the activity on BLANCHARD-L as we approach the start of a new year. One thought is to have each member prepare a brief summary of their BLANCHARD (or name variant) "line" to let other members know about your searches. We could use a variation of the Roots-L query lines: ________ (Name variant, if not BLANCHARD) Time period Earliest three known B's Migration pattern (country, state, etc.) for your B's Special problem area _____________ My info. might look like: c1600 - present Thomas>George>George ENG>MA>CT>VT>NY>PA Asahel (1771-c1860), son? of Abner Another might be: (fictitious) BLANCHER 1850-1900 William>Jerome>Leslie MA>NY>OH>CA w. of Leslie This could be set up in a '5-field' database and printed in landscape view and/or posted to our Web Page. Some of you have already found a 'group' with common interests but this may help new members to find some kindred spirits or should I say cousins? In the next few weeks, please think about this proposal and send your comments to my personal e-mail < fab@klink.net> rather than to the List, to avoid cluttering the Archives. I'll collect your thoughts and post them to the List from time to time. Part II of this Adm. message will deal with the new Surname Boards at GenConnect and how these (and other Internet sites) relate to our BLANCHARD-L List and Web Page. Fletch
