Announcement: A Query Board has been set up with GenConnect at RootsWeb for use in association with the BLANCHARD-L Mail List and Web Page. To post to the Board (bulletin board), go to: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Blanchard and follow the directions. The first message posted to the Board is a Welcome message that tells a little about the BLANCHARD-L Mail List, our Web Page, how to subscribe to B-L and a brief word on the advantage of membership. The second message is directed at mostly new 'query posters' and includes a sample query. Thanks for providing feedback on the pros and cons of taking on this Board. Since there were no cons, I decided that we should preserve our first-preference for Board ownership, activate it, see how it works and then decide just how it fits into our program. When I learn how much supervision is required, I'll be able to judge that against the value of having our own Query Board. After you have had a chance to become familiar with this Board, please let me know how you think it can be used to assist with out genealogy research. As always, if your comments are of general interest to the List, post there, otherwise use my mailbox. I'm trying to keep from overloading our Archives with non-genealogy matters. Keep in mind that two of the special advantages of this Query Board are that it is maintained (almost) automatically and it incorporates a powerful search engine. Fletch
