Here is the status on the GenConnect Boards that have been set up in conjunction with the BLANCHARD-L Mail List at RootsWeb. I have activated the six additional boards so that we can try them out and decide if we want to continue supervising them or release them to someone else. These are: Bible Records, Wills, Deeds, Pensions, Obits, and Biographies. The Query board can be considered the primary board. Query, Bible, Wills, Deeds and Pensions are 'open' boards which means that anyone can post to them. I have set Obits and Biographies to "read only", following the guidelines that suggest these might require more supervision to avoid copyright violation. For now, all posts to these two Boards must be sent directly to me, as the Board Supervisor and I will review and then post. I don't know how much work is involved. If it turns out that any of these boards require more time than I have for them, I may ask for volunteers to consider taking over the supervision or will ask for your opinions on giving them up to a non-member. Some listowners who did not get the word early enough to sign up for boards on a "first come, first served" basis, are disappointed that their boards were taken by some "early birds". I plan to add a page to the BLANCHARD-L Web Site that will be a "jumping off" point to all the GenConnect Boards, but in the meantime, you can bookmark these URLs.
