    1. [BLANCHARD] census look ups
    2. Hi, Someone posted a connectionb for census look ups for state census. It had links for some states and abbrev. for each state. I can't remember which list or who posted it. I put it in a folder to look at later and now I can't find it. If it would'nt be any trouble or some one else saved it, could you please re- post it? Thank you much, Cathy

    1. [BLANCHARD] PHEOBIE Blanchard
    2. Does any one have Blanchard's from NEW YORK in the 1850' s or so? Some one wrote to me a while back about the Eddy and Blanchard lines but I have lost the e'mail some how. Pheobie Blanchard was born in 1808 in Boston Erie New York and md. Osmer Eddy in 1825. They lived in Boston Erie New York. Osmer died in 1848 and she die in 1868. She didn't remarry. At this point I have no idea who her parents were. They had 7 children. At least 5 were boys and 1 girl. One of the children, I am not sure if it is a boy or girl. If anyone has a clue, please let me know. I have down line data but I just can't seem to find her. And to the person who wrote to me before, if you see this please contact me again. Somehow I lost your e'mail. Cathy

    1. Re: [BLANCHARD] John and Percia (Herod) Blanchard, parents of Marcia (BLANCHARD) MANNING (1789-1875) married in 1809
    2. John F. Chandler
    3. The History of Woodstock says Marcia BLANCHARD was the daughter of John BLANCHARD and Persis HARWOOD (John's 3rd wife). She was born 1747 Jan 14 at Sutton, MA, daughter of David, and she there married John BURLEY of Union, CT (called Burleigh in the History). She next married John BLANCHARD in 1785 and died 1814 Feb 7. John died 1822 Feb 7, aged 85, apparently at Union, CT. Also, apparently, he lived in the towns of Brooklyn, Windham, and Hampton before moving to Woodstock, and the History doesn't offer anything on his parentage. John Chandler

    3. I am looking for more information on the wife of George Monroe Blanchard. Her name was Hattie (Harriett?) E. Lawrence. I've tried the Lawrence list but there are just too many Lawrences! Hattie was born in Ashbornham, MA and married George in 1872. She died 18 Feb 1904 in Ashby, MA. Her mother was possibly Martha Hadley. I do not know her father. George was a descendent of "Joseph & Ann". Joseph, John, Thomas, William, Simeon, Levi, Levi Monroe, George Monroe. Anyone have anything? Georgia

    3. Hi Melissa - Richard Horvath ( r.horvath@worldnet.att.net ) is a member of this list, but in case he does not see your message, I suggest you contact him about your Elizabeth in Elizabethtown, NJ. Richard has researched quite a few NJ Blanchards and may be able to help you. Also, in a post to BLANCHARD-L on 24 Mar 1998 by Tom Wilde, who at that time was relaying information to and from Pat Blanchard Curry of CA, I found the following in the list archives. ______ JOHN, of Elizabethtown, NJ m his 3rd wife Suzanne REZEAU 1697 in NY City [Much data on desc. is in the NY Gen. & Biogr. Record v75:145-160 - Hartman, J.C.: "The Blanchard Family of Eliza beth, New Jersey [contains some errors] ______ If you have access to the NYGBR, you might check this. I believe that Vol. 75 would be 1944. Let me know if you are unable to locate a copy and I will check my local library which has a partial collection. This might be a good opportunity for me to remind all the members that the list archives at RootsWeb is one of the best places to begin a search for information about your ancestors. It only takes a few moments and the more you search, the easier it becomes. Even if it doesn't provide exactly the information you seek, you might get some great leads. The above post was found at the BLANCHARD-L archives, using the search word - Elizabethtown - for the year 1998. Refer to your Greetings/Guidelines for Searching the Archives and don't forget, if you have misplaced G/G, there is a copy on the BLANCHARD-L Web Page. 3. Some of you who are list managers at RootsWeb or who otherwise use their services, have already seen this announcement, but I thought it might be of general interest to anyone who has English ancestors. ROOTSWEB REVIEW: RootsWeb's Genealogy News Vol. 3, No. 39, 27 September 2000 PARISH REGISTERS (U.K.). In its early stage, the goal of this ambitious project is to transcribe every U.K. parish register and make the transcriptions available on these pages. At the moment there are transcriptions or partial transcriptions of five registers of parishes in Hampshire, England and one in Somerset, England. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pinks/ or http://www.parishregisters.co.uk The four Hampshire parishes are Colemore, East Meon, Farringdon, Newton Valence, and Priors Dean. The Somerset parish is Bruton. As an example, the Colemore records (1563-1975) are broken down into eight sections and the first group is Chr, Mar, Bur 1563-1762. All events are sorted by names and dates for easy access. Not all of the events have been transcribed yet for Colemore. The pages are very well done and you might want to monitor the site as more parishes are added. Fletch

My source for my connection is the book, BLANCHARDS OF RHODE ISLAND by Adelaide Blanchard Crandall in 1942. I borrowed the book from library loan several years ago. I would imagine it is still available in that manner. On page 45, it lists a Horatio BLANCHARD, son of a George but there is no birthdates for either of them. George would be in the correct age bracket however. George was married to Caroline Bradely, 4-9- 1830 in Somers, CT. George was son of Caleb, b 2-29-1777. Caleb is the son of Isaac and Rosannah GREENE. Isaac is the son of William Jr., son of William BLANCHARD of Coventry or Scituate, Rhode Island. My line is through this William's son Moses BLANCHARD.
