    3. Dear All Blanchard Friends and relatives, In light of recent return messages: ( and I don't need any more Fletch, or anyone else ) Please, don't waste my time unless you have something nice to say. Just a posted message to all who feel like lambasting me for warning about the computer virus. Don't do it. I will consider it harassment. No one has any proof that viruses can not be transmitted by E-mail that I know of. I personally have wasted a lot of time reconfiguring my computer and reloading things due to crashes where a bunch of silly words came up on the screen. Just take the friendly, good willed warning into consideration and stop throwing stones. I also appreciate if anyone warns me about possible danger of any sort. My father is a computer consultant of about 15 or 20 years, and a professional engineer and also many other things and he is the source of the warning. Don't harass him either. Find something better to do. I have been getting some flack about this posted message, and personally, I don't believe any of the critics have a higher IQ than US , and in spite of your opinions, just let the message go out that there is supposedly a virus to be aware of- no harm done. I will consider it a legal matter if I receive any more harassing letters in my mail. I mean well, and I realize the dangers of viruses personally. My sister is also a computer engineer/programmer with a 3.98 grade average upon graduation with a minor in economics while raising a large family ( seven children ) and working full time , and I wasn't born under a log. When I post messages of good will, I would remind any one who is interested in harassing that it is against the law. Bruce William Aho

    3. I appparently missed the posted virus warning which started the hoopla. Why? Probably because I saw the subject, decided I had already received it and deleted it. No harm done!! I subscribe to other lists which include people trying to help each other. Why are so many people on this list so eager to spend time overreacting to such a trivial matter? And then you complain about wasting your time reading unwanted postings. Kind of a contradiction, don't you think? I once posted a message in error, should have been an email, and I received so many unkind emails it was unbelievable. Why can't you just take these things with a grain of salt - do you react to every unacceptable situtation in daily life this way? If so, how do you ever find time to do research?? This will be my last posting - I will unsubscribe asap. (Let me guess your reaction - big loss!!). I have referred several people to this list, will discontinue that practice as well. Just think, one of those people I don't refer could have the link one of you is missing. What really needs to be dealt with here is the bad attitudes of so many of your subscribers. Don't bother emailing me either - I will consider email from any source I am not familiar with as harassment and will forward it to aol tos as a violation.

    3. I signed on to get information about the surname "Blanchard". I would appreciate the listserve being dedicated to that purpose. I consider it 'harassment' to be involved in personal emails. Yes, this is a public listserve, but it is dedicated to the surname 'Blanchard', not virus warnings, not harassment emails. Thank you for your consideration to others. Linda

According to the chart made by Margaret Blanchard, the Thomas Blanchard who married Amy Newton of Norfolk, VA, was the son of Thomas & Lois (Burt). Thomas Sr supposedly moved from Andover, MA to Henderson, NH, and then to Danville, VT. The baptism of Thomas Jr is on record at the South Parish of Andover, 1786 Oct 1. Interestingly enough, I have a second wife listed for this Thomas: Rebecca Gardner. No dates or places for Amy or Rebecca, aside from Norfolk. John Chandler

    2. Ranald Blanchard
    3. Hello to the Group: I , of course, am using Thomas Miller's book as a guide but would like to fill in some of the "gaps". On page 31 of the book there is reference to Robert MILLER marrying Sarah BLANCHARD in 1851 either in Ma. or NH. Sarah is listed as coming from Watertown, Ma. Apparently the were only married 13 months when Robert died. 1. Would anyone know if they had a child? 2. I would like confirmation as to just who Sarah's parents were. -- Rannie Blanchard, Mt Uniacke, NS, Canada Index: Sarah.
