Hi Bob and All, I had sent the response below to Bob about Azuba and then was gathering an old copy of my manuscript to take to the library when I noticed the following notations from the VT vital records: Azuba m. Alonzo S Wright 5 Jul 1840 in Windsor, VT Benjamin of Reading m. Patty Row 3 Sep 1812 in Windsor. I have no idea how these two tie in or why I chose to note them. I did not have Nehemiah's children in that early copy and may have thought they could be his, which they are not. Does anyone know where they fit in? My sincere apologies, Sherry ---------- From: Sherry L Gould[SMTP:gould@iamnow.net] Sent: Wednesday, December 16, 1998 12:51 PM To: 'ralksd@nh.ultranet.com' Subject: Azuba I am sorry that I do not have any info on them. I specialize in Blanchard data in NH. It was worth the try as many VT Blanchard's went there from NH. Have you checked the archives for the Blanchard mail list? You may find he has been discussed in the past. Announcement: A Query Board has been set up with GenConnect at RootsWeb for use in association with the BLANCHARD-L Mail List and Web Page. To post to the Board (bulletin board), go to: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Blanchard and follow the directions. The first message posted to the Board is a Welcome message that tells a little about the BLANCHARD-L Mail List, our Web Page, how to subscribe to B-L and a brief word on the advantage of membership. The second message is directed at mostly new 'query posters' and includes a sample query. Thanks for providing feedback on the pros and cons of taking on this Board. Since there were no cons, I decided that we should preserve our first-preference for Board ownership, activate it, see how it works and then decide just how it fits into our program. When I learn how much supervision is required, I'll be able to judge that against the value of having our own Query Board. After you have had a chance to become familiar with this Board, please let me know how you think it can be used to assist with out genealogy research. As always, if your comments are of general interest to the List, post there, otherwise use my mailbox. I'm trying to keep from overloading our Archives with non-genealogy matters. Keep in mind that two of the special advantages of this Query Board are that it is maintained (almost) automatically and it incorporates a powerful search engine. Fletch

According to the history of Acworth, David's married Betsy Gregg, and she died 1869 Feb 12 (shortly before the book was published). Since David was married at the time of his death, he must have remarried in his 80's! John

The town history of Plymouth lists these dates but significantly does not say the first two children were born in Plymouth. The implication is that they were born in Wilton. The history also gives two additional children besides the four you give... Polly, b 1795 Sep 11 in Plymouth, m Jonathan Wise. Esther, b 1809 Mar 9 in Plymouth, m Truman Church. > 1. Hi! According to records I have received from the Cattaraugus County Court House in Little Valley, NY, James died on 17 March 1833. His wife Eunice lived to be a very old lady; her will and inventory information are on file there at the County. I was in hopes this would turn out to be the family of my Matilda Blanchard, who was born 6 Aug 1815, presumably in VT, married Amraphel Russell, son of Benedict Russell who lived in Leon, NY (next door to Conewango), then died 11 Sep 1844. The county people I talked with said they believed all of James and Eunice's children were shown in the records and didn't include my Matilda. So I didn't pursue further, but believe they have several records on the family you seek. If you are part of that family, I'd appreciate any clues you might have for me, since the proximity to my family would suggest a potential connection. Thanks! -Jim in Redmond, WA.
Hi All, Here are three Blanchards that I have not placed at all. Help?! Sherry Nancy BLANCHARD Bradford Censuses 1800 1800 Census 3-0-0-0-0-2-0-0-1-0-0 Pheba BLANCHARD, b. ca 1804 in Tunbridge, VT to Samuel (b. Hi All, This one has been rewarding. Hiram held a respected position in Bradford and I have long wondered where he fit in. It is interesting that there was a Hiram about the same age born in Hopkinton, NH who I had seen in passing and assumed they were the same. Not so and I have a little more on the Ancestry that unfortunately goes beyond the scope of our work. David died in Acworth Oct 30th 1877 age 89y. 7m. 7d.. He was born in Shutesbury, MA and his parents were Joseph and Relief Blanchard. Joseph was also born in Shutesbury. David was married at the time of his death and he is listed as a farmer. This is from his death certificate from NH VR. Does anyone have David's wife or any more VR's on them? Hi Ross and All, I am currently co-authoring a book on the Early Families of Bradford. Not because I wanted to drop other projects I was working on and do another, but because another woman came forward and was going to do this book now, so If I wanted to participate I needed to do so now. And I did very much want to be a part of that. As a result I have been looking at some NHVR's that I had not previously looked at. I will be posting different things as FYI and also some of the Bradford Data looking for confirmation, correction or additions and of course I value your comments. Would this tie into your line Ross? Dorcas Pike Blanchard d. 16 Mar 1797 age 43y. 9m. 5d. in Hinsdale and is buried in Hooker Cemetery. She was married at the time. Did you have this? Sherry
Hi All, Here is what I have put together for this family. I welcome any additions and would appreciate any sources that may be attached to the data sent. I am not certain that the marriage and children of Peter the son are correct. The source abbrv. are BVR = Bradford, NH Vital Records with microfilm roll # and page #. Peter Dolliver BLANCHARD Bradford Census 1790 Peter Dolliver Blanchard, son of David Sr. and Margaret (DOLLIVER) BLANCHARD was b. 16 Jun 1765 [NHVR] in Wilton. Peter first appears in the Bradford records when his house is mentioned in June of 1790 [BVR1:22] and he is listed in the 1790 census (alone). The 1800 NH census shows that Peter has removed to Plymouth. He m. 23 Dec 1790 Molly BLODGET in Plymouth [NHVR]. Children (BLANCHARD) of Peter and Molly (Blodget): 1 Peter, b. 26 Oct 1791 in Plymouth [NHVR]. Simeon, b. 6 Aug 1793 in Plymouth [NHVR]. Belinda, b. 26 Sep 1800 in Plymouth [NHVR]. Esther, b. 18 Jan 1825 in Groton [NHVR]. Simeon F, b. 1828 in Groton [NHVR]. Joanna C, b. 28 Apr 1833 in Groton [NHVR].
