Hi, Vicki, and welcome to the list. I have your Joseph as the son of Joseph & Priscilla (Smith) Blanchard. He was born in Stoughton, MA, according to the vital records, one day later than you have. He married apparently in Mansfield, MA, though the Stoughton vitals also list the marriage (but on Nov 14). The marriage intention filed at Stoughton listed the bride as "Salome Welmon." Only one child was recorded in Mass. (Asa in 1775) before the family moved north (first to Colrain, according to Pat Curry, and then to Jamaica, VT, by 1785). I'd be interested in the data you have on the other children. > The Blancher family moved to > Leeds County, Ontario in 1800. Also interesting. There have been discussions in this group of two other Blanchards who moved there at that time: two brothers, Aaron and John, from the Andover branch. John Chandler I am wondering if Daniel may be part of this family, Does any one have any information on the Blanchards in Leeds? After they left Jamaica, VT in 1800? Daniel shows up in 1810 in Jamaca, VT , again. In Starksboro He leases land to The First CONGREGATIONAL Chruch, same church as the above baptism records. Well if any of you pros out there could take a look at this and send some ideas my way That would be great!!!!!! Thanks Jo Ann

Hi Blanchard Rooters! I was looking up something in the 1880 Census for Manistee, Co., MI when I happened to find a Blanchard who gave his birthplace, and that of his parents, as Denmark! How 'bout that! I'm guessing that perhaps he changed his name from something else, but who knows. Anybody out there have any Danish Blanchards on your family tree? Just curious. There were also a couple of Blanchards from New York in the census, and if any of you are looking for lost relatives who might have strayed to West Michigan in the 1880s let me know and I will give particulars. Regards, Maggie
Carol Carnahan, was asking about Blanchard's I did find this at the Family History Center today. I guess this will just conferm your info. Peter C. Blanchard married 1848 in Ohio to Julia Ann Humphrey. I wish I could have gotten you more information. Enjoy Donna
Hi this is Donna , I'm looking for the wife of Aaron Ames Blanchard born abt 1740 were I don't know. I think that his wife was Mourning Summer ? I do know that they had a daughter named Monica Blanchard born 16 Oct 1787 in Gates co, N.C. Can anyone help me ?? Thanks inadvance.
My gt-gt-grandfather Peter BLANCHARD married Julia Ann Humphrey in 1848 in Ashtabula County. Their son, Oriette R. BLANCHARD, was born May 7, 1852 in Harpersfield, Ash. Co., OH. I don't know his siblings. He married Alice P. Knapp and moved to Nebraska, where they remained the rest of their lives. In my search I've found the Humphreys back to 1590 and the Knapps to 1606! But so far no Blanchard lineage beyond what I already had. Can anybody give me more info on my Blanchards? Carol Carnahan, Corvallis, Montana
Beginning about March 1st, possibly a few days later, the LDS Church will release a beta test of Family Search on the internet for about 3 week trial basis at: http://family search.org ( Keep checking until they actually have it up and running) They would like everyone to try it out and respond! After the short beta testing they will take it off the internet in order to fix any problems. Good News!!!

This is my first inquiry to the Blanchard-L list. I am searching for information concerning the parents of my third great grandmother Barbara Blanchard. I am not sure if Blanchard is Barbara's maiden name or if she was previously married. I know of no reason though to think she was previously married. Barbara was probably born about 1770. About 1791 she married Samuel Ellis probably in Vermont or Maine. She and Samuel are possibly from the Woodstock, VT area but by 1807 Samuel was residing in Madison, ME. Barbara apparently died before 1807 because in that year Samuel remarried to Sarah Withee. Barbara and Samuel had the following children: Samuel, Barbara, Mary N., John (my ancestor), Freeborn, Sweet, Nancy, and Thimeon. Any help would be much appreciated. New subscriber Myron Hinrichs 4945 D Street Petaluma CA 94952 USA email myronhinrichs@worldnet.att.net Robert Blanche married Emma Barlow, probably 1882, Caldwell Co, Missouri. Had children, Ella, Leila, b 9 Oct 1884 Larnard (sp ? Lerned) KN, Alice, Jenny and Will. Divorced in Mechanicsville, Iowa, abt 1920. We know alot about Emma Barlow, but nothing about where Robert Blanche came from because of outcast status after the divorce. Myron PS Origin of the name Blanche is hilarious. It is from the color of horses, ie Sorrel, Dun, Roan and Blank--which is no color. From that it moved to "the pale faced guy down the road, ie, Blank and then to Blanche.
The "Threaded Mailing List Archive" that Mark Nozell started to develop last year, is in the process of being upgraded and is in a test phase. List messages will be organized much in the same way that they are on Usenet Newsgroups, the GenConnect Boards and elsewhere. Related messages are 'connected' or 'threaded' so it is much easier to follow the exchanges that take place on a single subject. In order for this to be successful, it is necessary that Mail List messages have appropriate Subject: lines since these are used to generate the 'threads'. Supplying useful and meaningful Subject: lines is a good idea for all Mail List messages but it is vital to the success of the "Threaded Archive". Keep tuned; I will let the List know as soon as Mark gives the word that his web page for the new Archive is ready to go "public". Fletch
--------- Forwarded message ---------- Hello list! I recv'd this on another list and thought I'd pass it on. Not sure what happened there. Will try the text of the message again. "There is a very active worm (they are not calling it a virus) rearing its ugly little head around the net. Ironically, I just read about it tonite on a message board I frequent and I wasn't terribly concerned about it as I never open an EXE attachment without checking for a virus. Not an hour later I received 2 copies of this little gem attached to emails from another list.
