I believe there may have been two Horace Blakesley living during the same time. Who was your Horace married to. Mine was married to Aline Fiegel. I didn't go into his line, however I have some info on my Blakesly cousins. My Horace was the son of the same two people, unless I have that wrong. Do you live in MEtairie, La.? The Horace Blakesley, father of Starling was in the marble Business in N. Orleans -1850 census. Anyone know Where in NEW YORK to search for Horace Blakesley and Sarah Sackett, his wife? My twin aunts, Beverly (m.Joseph Dorsey and Betty (m. ? Oberg, then m. Bud Smith) . Beverly had 9 children and Betty had 2. My grandmother Virginia Blakesley lived in Olivia for many years above the drug store. My grandfather LYLE lived in MN, CO NV and was living in OR when he died. Judy Synder and I are both trying go back and find his beginnings.. My materal grandmother (at 90+) still lives in Elbow Lake. Don't know if this helps at all....Deborah

I found them in the 1880 census. Herman had 2 sisters named Ida and Etta. I have also found a few pictures of Lyle. One with my parents in 1961 and one thats pretty blury with both his sons, my father Myron and my uncle Boyden. I plan to call Boyden soon. they have lived in Oregon for many years. I haven't been able to located ADA husband or Herman's father...but I'll keep looking.

What is your fathers Dad's name? If it was Ralph (Shorty) then we have a connection. There are also other cousins living in MN. by the name of Betty and Beverly Blakesley. Beverly's married name is Dorsey.They are Lyle Blakesleys girls. Ralph died in 1963, also had a aunt Lois who lived in Morris,MN and helped Ralph raise his children when his wife Edith died in 1935. Aunt Lois died in 1962. Do any of these ring a bell? Hope to hear from you.

Born April 24 1904/5 (location unknown) and died January 1971 (Beaverton OR). I can find him in the MN 1930 census with my grandmother and children but in any before that. I know that he was involved in the White Sands Incident as he gave my brother a book about it before he died. Any information regarding parentage or siblings would be appreciated.

He was born about 1872 in Guthrie, Iowa and died about 1955 I think in Minnesota. He married Edith McGrew, she was born 1874 I believe in Pottawatomie, Iowa. They had five children; Lois, Dorothy, Paul(who died in 1921), Ralph(Shorty) and Lyle(Jerry). They also lived in Iowa and Minnesota, that i know of. If anyone can help me find out anything about Heman's family, parents etc. I would sure appreciate it. Thank You in advance Judy

I was adopted by my grandmother Dorothy Blakesley Redshaw. I do know that I have cousins in Minnesota and Iowa. There was a Rachel and a Mary Marjorie that I remember. Dorothy's brothers names were Ralph (Shorty), of Morris, Minnesota; Jerry of everywhere; and there was also Aunt Lois, a spinster. They had a brother Paul that drowned as a young man.
