If so, look at the 1850 census of Warren Co., N J. You will find the John H Blair 38 has a wife Mary, 35. Their children on this census are: William, Harrison, John A and Rachel. Is this your family? I did not look at the 1840 census you mentioned, but did that couple have one male son under 5? Do you know John H Blair's wife's name and children's names? I hope this little tidbit is a help.
