The name changed when he immigrated to Wisconsin(Wassau area) from Ontario and he was definately French Canadian. Having spend most of his adult life in Wassau, Wisconsin I am not sure how he came to die in Detroit, MI. At any rate, I am having difficulty picking him up in Canada by any spelling of the last name. I would be curious to know if your research has been more fruitful?
