Blair, 79, of Bristol, husband of Doris (Cote) Blair, died on Sunday (December 14, 2003) at Walnut Hill Nursing Home in New Britain. Mr. Blair was born in Bristol on March 12, 1924 and was a son of the late Norman W. Blair Sr. and Mildred (Dragon) Blair. A lifelong Bristol resident, he served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II. After the war, he co-owned Blair and Wheeler Painting Co. for 10 years until opening Blair's Package Store and the Bristol Plaza Package Store. He operated his package stores until retiring in 1986. He was a member of the 100 Club of Connecticut and St. Joseph Church, Bristol. In addition to his wife, Mr. Blair is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Charles N. and Judy Blair of Bristol and Terry and Beverly Blair of Newington; a brother, Louis Blair of Bristol; three sisters, Marion Reale and Shirley Ferraro of Bristol, and Dorothy Winters of Jacksonville, FL; several grandchildren, great grandchildre! n, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, is in care of the arrangements.
