It's been a while since I've posted an update to the Blair DNA Project. 68 test results have been received and posted on the website at http://blairgenealogy.com/dna/results.html The status through April 19, 2004: No. of Participants: 74 (37-Marker = 8, 25-Marker = 57, 12-Marker = 9) No. of DNA sample received and processed by FT-DNA: 71 No. of 12-Marker Test Results: 9 (includes 1 who is upgrading to the 25 marker test) No. of 25-Marker Test Results: 59 Of the 68 test results received, 46 have been grouped together into 7 groups. Group 1 (Blair of Blair descendants) consists of 21 participants. This group appears to share a common ancestor with the only known descendant of the original Blair of Blair. This group consists of participants who all have a value of 26 on marker 2, a value that is very rare. See http://blairgenealogy.com/dna/group3.html. Group 4 has 2 participants that match 12 for 12 and share an already known common ancestor. See http://blairgenealogy.com/dna/group4.html Group 5 consists of 5 participants. This is a rather loose group which may or may not be related. See http://blairgenealogy.com/dna/group5.html. Group 6 is 4 participants. Two participants match 25 for 25 while the other two participants mismatch on two markers. See http://blairgenealogy.com/dna/group6.html Group 7 consists of 4 participants.
