I have successfully traced my family name back to Thomas Blair, who married Margaret Burney at Bromfield in 1793. According to his death certificate he was 84 years in 1840, therefore born about 1756. BUT where? If anyone can help me I should be grateful. I also have details of another line of Blairs, originating from Kirklinton, Cumberland, William and Stephen Blair abt 1720-30, believed to be brothers. Their descendants moved to Bolton Le Moors, Chorlton on Medlock, Lancashire. The most recent record I have of this family is the 1881 Census. I should be interested in hearing from any one with connections to this family.
