The 2005 Blair Society for Genealogical Research Convention is being held in Staunton, VA, Friday, 17 June - Sunday, 19 June 2005 at the Holiday Inn Golf and Convention Center. Friday evening participants may wish to join other for dinner at a nearby restaurant, or to avail themselves of the Hospitality Room, to introduce themselves to other members and officers, and talk genealogy with folks who are as enthusiastic as you about Blair families. The Convention program on Saturday, June 18th, begins at 9:00 a.m. (registration sign-in from 8:30 a.m.) and lasts throughout the day. There will be an optional catered buffet lunch at the hotel. The program will include a keynote address by Dr. Catherine Brown on "Life in Ulster, 1690-1720." Other speakers will take us to "Life in Colonial Shenandoah Valley," cover "Local Augusta County Records," and local Blair families, past and present, and update of the Blair DNA Project results. The evening may be spent in the Hospitality Room. Sunday is check-out time for many, or a group expedition to a nearby historic site may be organized (express your interest to Bill Blair, the Program Chair, or Bryce Blair, BSGR President). In order to plan for space and facilities we would appreciate having as many pre-registrations as possible, and an indication of interest in the Saturday noon buffet. See the BSGR website, www.BlairSociety.org and click on the Blair Convention window for more information. John ______________________________ John A.
