Hello Everyone, I'm new to the list, this being my first post. I've been working on our family tree for quite some time now. I have just started focusing in on my maternal g-grandmother's line. She was born Edith Buchanan Holmes. Her father is John Dinsmore Holmes, b. in 1855 in PA. I believe his parents to be John Holmes, b. abt 1818, in Ireland, & Rachel ???, b. abt 1819, in Ireland. He had a sister by the name of Margaret E., b. abt 1859 in PA. He married Sarah Blair, b. in abt 1856. Sarah was born in Pa. Both of her parents were born in Ireland. John & sarah had five children together: Retty D., (sp ?), b. abt 1882, Margaret, B. abt 1888, Elva May, b. abt 1889, Edith Buchanan, b. 1894 & a boy I believe may have been named Edward. My g-grandmother, Edith Buchanan, married John William Hussung. They had three daughters: Edith, Elva & Doris. Edith is my grandmother. Retty married a man named Ashby. They had four children: Sarah D., Margaret M., Ellenor H, and John. I have been searching for information on Sarah Blair in an attempt to learn about her parents and siblings.
