I am looking for anyone with information on Alexander Blair and Elizabeth Maitland. According to the 1881 Scottish Census, Alexander was residing at Hill of Arnmore, Kippen, Stirlingshire, Scotland, with his wife Elizabeth Maitland, daughter Agnes, and sons Alexander and Archibald. Alexander was 71, Elizabeth was 68, Agnes was 22, Alexander was 27, and Archibald was 32. According to his death certificate Alexander died July 5, 1893 at the age of 83. His parents are listed as James Blair, Gardener, Deceased, and Jane Blair, Ms McFarlane, Deceased. Despite extensive searching I have not been able to find any McFarlane who married a James Blair. Although I have no proof, I believe there is a connection between Alexander Blair and Elizabeth Maitland and my John Blair and Margaret McLuckie. My John resided at Arnmore in the late 1700s and died there in 1799. John had several sons and one daughter but I good information on only two of his sons, Robert and Peter and these two do not connect to Alexander Blair and Elizabeth Maitland.
