When at first you don't succeed, etc., etc. I am still searching for parents for my Thomas BLAIR who was born 1801 (most sources say Tennessee, at least one lists Virginia), died 1865 in Lawrence County, TN. He married first Sarah CUNNINGHAM in Lawrence County in 1821 and they had two children (William C. and Elizabeth Jane) before Sarah died in 1825. Since his marriage is the first record of him in the area, I sort of think he may have gone there specifically to marry her. The first two children were, at least partially, raised by Rev. Isaac REEDER and wife, Rachel. I don't know what, if any, relationship they had to Thomas. He married secondly, Elizabeth McLAREN in 1834. They had: Martha, Robert C., Mary, James, Thomas Jr., Franklin and John Frederick. Any smidgen of help would be gratefully received. "Educated guesses" are welcome, too. I'm at my wits end! Hi Mickey, Have you checked the census records of Thomas Blair's children? On the census form in 1880, each listed the state in which their parents were born . It might help to narrow your search. Additionally, I think I recall seeing some of the Blairs originating from TN listed as the ancestors for a couple of Blair DNA participants at Blairgenealogy.com. They might have more answers. If you have a male Blair cousin, his DNA might also yield clues. I'll let you know if I run across anything.
