Author: looks4kin Surnames: Blair, Pomeroy, Kline Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.blair/3599.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Not sure if this is a match, or not; but, I have these notes on the family of Robert Harris Blair (b. 18 Sep 1819 in Knoxville, Knox Co., TN, d. 21 Feb 1896 in Superior, Nuckolls Co., NE): Robert Harris Blair's father, Joseph Blair, is said to have went to Alabama where he had a government job teaching the Creek and Cherokee Indians. Robert Harris Blair's daughter, Amanda Ellen Blair Pomeroy Kline, recorded this: "Taken from my grandfather's diary, 'Joseph Blair landed with his family and tools all at the Creek Agency on the 19th of Jan. 1835.'" This information is not my own research. I received it from the wonderful folks at the Blair Society for Genealogical Research.
