Do you know the name of his wife, if he had one? Do you know the names of his children? There are so many James Blairs that we, on the list, need more information than a name and state, if you know anything else at all. Also, what part of New York he lived, would be helpful in determining if a James, in my line, is the same James in your line. I had several James Blairs in the Carolinas in the 1700's. I suggest you respond to these questions on the message board, if you can. That way the whole list will get the information. Who knows, someone may know exactly the information you seek. I was once new at this myself, and several people graciously gave me some very good pointers. I will always be grateful for their kindnesses. So now it is my turn to help someone else.
