He was born about 1817 in PA according to the 1870 census. He married Margaret (maiden name unknown), probably in PA. on the 1870 census in Miller County, MO they have Henry Calvin (listed on the census as Caroline, but has an M next to it for male), William, George, Freelin, and Charles. All the children but Charles were born in PA. I don't know when Alexander died but Margaret died in 1879 in Franklin County, Kansas. On the 1880 census Alexander is in Frankilin County, Kansas with Henry Calvin, William, George, Charles, and a daughter Ida (7, born after the last census).
