    1. Trying to locate parents of Nancy Jane Blair and Richard B. Baker
    2. Eleanor Erion
    3. Nancy Jane Blair was born abt. 1824 Richard B. Baker was born iabt.1818 Nancy Jane Blair married Richard B. Baker in Maury County, Tennessee. I found their names on a Maury County Tennessee Marriage list for the years 1808 - 1852. Their names were listed for December 14, 1839. According to the register the first date listed was a marriage bond or license date. The second date in Parenthesis was the date of Marriage. The date of marriage was missing. Apparently information was not turned in to be recorded or they were married in another county. Nancy Jane and Richard B. Baker are my Great, Great, Great Grandparents. The first census I find them in as a family listing children was 1850 in Macoupin County, Illinois. The first two of their 10 children were born in Tennessee in 1840 and 1843. The third child was born in Illinois in 1844. Their second born Richard F. Baker is my G.G grandfather. His son James Richard Baker is my great Grandfather. His son Jay Virgil Baker is my grandfather Nancy and Richard Baker are buried in Marion, Marion County, Kansas at Highland Cemetery. I am looking for Nancy and Richard's parents, grandparents, and their siblings. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You, Eleanor Erion [email protected]

    2. Sharon Welch
    3. I am looking for information on Loren W. Blair who was born to John Wallace and Diane L. (Chittenden) Blair about 1870 in St. Lawrence Co., New York, or in Guthrie Co., Iowa. Loren's mother, Diane L. Chittenden, died 24 October 1873, probably in St. Lawrence Co., NY (Potsdam, Brasher, or Louisville). It is possible she died in Guthrie Co., Iowa, as her three sisters and a brother migrated there as early as 1870. I have been unable to find Diane & John Wallace Blair in the 1870 census records either in St. Lawrence Co., NY, OR Guthrie Co., IA. After Diane's death, "Lorn W. Blair" (nephew) is found living in the home of his aunt and uncle, John & Ellen (Chittenden) Richard in Bear Grove, Guthrie Co., IA, at the age of 10. That census states he was born in Iowa. In 1895, 23-year old "Loren Blair" was enumerated living with another uncle and aunt, "Edward T. & Sallie (Chittenden) Jordon (Jordan)" in the Iowa State Census, Guthrie Center, Guthrie Co., IA. In this census, it states Loren was born in New York. Does anyone have information about Loren W. Blair, born about 1870 in either New York or Iowa? I don't know where he went after 1895. His aunts and uncles (who were still living) are enumerated in the 1900 census, still living in Guthrie Co., IA, but Loren is not found anywhere near them. I appreciate any help, Sharon Welch St. George, Utah

    1. Blair Family in Central Illinois--info request
    2. Hello, I am new to this list. I have a g-g-grandmother Lucinda (Blair) Pate. According to her death certificate she was born 1 Aug 1850 in Virden, Illinois (I haven't been able to verify this). She died in Cass Co., IL on 20 Feb 1920 and is buried in Virginia, IL. Her father is listed as Robert Blair born in Ireland. Her mother's name was not given, but a birthplace of Ireland was also listed for her mother. The only other information that I have on her is that she married Jerry Pate on 24 Aug 1869 in Sangamon Co., IL. I'm already at a brick wall--and so soon in the search for my Blair ancestors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! April Johnson

    3. I am looking for information on Loren W. BLAIR who was born circa 1870-1872 in either St. Lawrence Co., NY, or in Guthrie Co., IA. His parents were John Wallace and Diane L. (CHITTENDEN) BLAIR. John and Diane L. (CHITTENDEN) BLAIR were married in 1869 in Potsdam, St. Lawrence Co., NY. Diane died on 24 October 1873, probably in St. Lawrence Co., NY. John migrated to Guthrie Co., IA, where Diane's sisters, Sally ( Edward Jordan), Ellen (John Richards), and Ruth (William Bailey), were living. John married a second time to Nancy Elizabeth HOLLENBECK 10 August 1876 in Iowa City, Johnson Co., IA. Loren W. BLAIR was enumerated living with John & Ellen (Chittenden) Richards in the 1880 census in Bear Grove, Guthrie Co., IA. He was described as their nephew. Loren was enumerated in the 1895 Iowa State Census in Guthrie Center, Guthrie Co., IA, living with Edward & Sally (Chittenden) Jordan. He was 23 years old. I don't know where Loren went after that...I can't find him anywhere in census records but it's probably his name was misspelled or I'm simply not looking in the right place. Family lore states he went to South Dakota. Does anybody have any information on this family? Thanks in advance, Sharon Welch St. George, Utah P.S. I have Diane L. (CHITTENDEN) BLAIR'S bible. I want to return it to her descendants if there are any living.

    2. Greetings, I'm researching my husband's BLAIR ancestors. According to a Missouri county history, Mary BLAIR, b. ca 1768 was of "the same family as General Frank Blair." She was married in Henry Co., VA. Nearby in Abingdon, Washington Co., VA, resided James BLAIR m. Elizabeth SMITH, the parents of Francis Preston Blair, Sr. James BLAIR later moved his family to Lexington, KY and he was the first Attorney General. I would like to compare notes with anyone who connects with this family. Blessings, Connie Mayo Arizona
