I have traced most of this family to about 1750. William Riley Blair's father was Ellison Thomas Blair II who married Louisa Jane Peters, then his father was Ellison Thomas I who married Hannah Stone, then his father was John Blair (of South Carolina and fought in the rev. It has allowed me to narrow down my search for parents of William Blair b. about 1765-66 to 2 sets of parents, which I'm looking at for different reasons (clues). I just wish there was a way to search for deaths as well. Thanks so much! Janet Brown Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. All I have is that David Blair married a Cassandra McDuffie around 1849. They had a child named George Washington Blair (which is my line). I think they also had children named Norman C, Mary Elizabeth, and a possible Enoch Blair. Do you know if Robert Blair had a child named David? Also, David died sometime between the 1850 and 1860 census as Cassandra was listed as widowed in the 1860 census. Thanks! Robert Harris Blair's daughter, Amanda Ellen Blair Pomeroy Kline, recorded this: "Taken from my grandfather's diary, 'Joseph Blair landed with his family and tools all at the Creek Agency on the 19th of Jan. 1835.'" This information is not my own research. I received it from the wonderful folks at the Blair Society for Genealogical Research. I hope we are on the same wave length here. My relative was Mary Margaret Blair and I wondered if she may have been referred to as Polly. I had a guesstimate of 1800 for her birth-I have a death date on her of 1854. I was looking for William's children to see if he had a daughter named Mary(since I did not know if George's Polly and my Mary were the same person-still not sure. My Rogers line after Samuel Rogers is John Rogers-do you have Samuel Rogers children and dates? Excited to hear more. jesswilson1914@yahoo.com.
