I was given Ann Jane Ferguson's engagement ring and it's led me back to Lawson Annesley and Newforge. My son carries the name Annesley as does my brother and mother and her father - the son of Ann Jane, grandson of James Ferguson, brother of Thomas. 1. [BLAIR] Joseph Blair, Wife Jan, Son Jonathan Blair, Virginia to Indiana
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: cybergata Surnames: Blair Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.blair/3647/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My mother's name was Eleanor Blair. I've traced her family from Nebraska, Indiana to Virginia, but have reached a brick wall with Joseph Blair. From census records, I find that Joseph was in 1850 & 1840, living in Harrison Township., Harrison, Indiana. The age given to him makes his birth sometime around 1790 and his birth place is given as Virginia. His wife Jane is also listed in the 1850 census, and her age give would make her birth around 1800 & her birthplace was also in Virginia. According to "The Early American Marriages: Virginia to 1850," Joseph and Jane were married on 29 Nov 1813 in Pittsylvania, Virgina. Jane and Joseph are listed living together in the 1850 Census, so they were married for a long time. I can find at least two children, Jonathan Blair and Delila Blair, with Jonathan being my Great, Great Grandfather. Jonathan was born in Harrison, Indiana. My question is does anyone have any information about Joseph Blair and his wife Jane? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My Wilson family came out of somewhere in PA in 1820 to Harrison/Tuscarawas/Jefferson Counties Ohio and then to Tyler County WV and Meigs County OH. My ancestor, William B. Wilson (b. 1810 PA) was associated with a Jesse Clair Beeson, who was the son of Jesse & Ann Beeson from Fayette County, PA. I'm looking to see whether you are aware of any Wilson-Beeson connections from the late 1700s or early 1880s, possibly in the Fayette or even Greene County areas.
