The oldest ancestor we have is James Blair, born before 1694 in Kilbirnie. He had three sons that we know of. One of them was Archibald Blair, born before 1724 in Kilwinning. He produced eleven offspring and so the list grows with each generation. The families seem to have clustered in the Dalry area To date we have found "cousins" living in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the US but feel there must be others. I have some info on several Alexander Blairs from Ayrshire but I don't see any mention of Agnes Dunsmuir. I'm guessing that if they went to Australia with three children in the 1860s that Alexander was born possibly in the 1830s but that still leaves a rather wide window. Greetings ‹ I¹m trying to locate a (hopefully) extant Blair. Seeking Bruce Blair b. ca. 1945 perhaps in Boston/Roxbury, MA area. Lived in Boston/Roxbury vicinity in mid-1960s. Enlisted in US Navy 1965/66, attended Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA (Russian language student) in 1966-7 and then to Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, TX. Hi My Robert Blairs actually begin in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, 1740s, moving to Campbelltown, Argyll, Scotland - and then one in each generation, including current, Gourock, then Glasgow, Scotland and then Ontario, Canada. James H. begins and ends in Scotland - 1840 - 1995. No immediate connection, but who knows what might have been in the very distant past.
