    3. I also am interested in locating William Blair who was a veteran of 1812 from Brandford County Pennsylvania. I have an ancestor William E. Blair born in 1805 who married who married Miami Forrest in Athens, Bradford, PA in 1844 and resided there until 1852 and endeed up in Dunn County, Wisconsin in 1863. William E Blair's father is a William E. Blair and I wondered if it was the 1812 veteran from Bradford County? Any ideas? Marjorie

    2. Charles & Mary Blair
    3. Back in June of this year, there were several items concerning a Charles Culpepper Blair. A Mary Jo wrote: Looks like my C.C. Blair & Mecca Reeves were m. 1-5-1845 in Carroll Co., GA. Their first three (3) children were born in Alabama and the rest of the children were born in Erath, Eastland and Parker Counties. While I was looking thru some old research papers of my own, I came across a little info about him. In " A Place Called Blair" it states that Fort Blair which is located in Desdemona, Eastland Co, TX was established by Charles Culpper Blair in 1857. During the Civil War, it was a settlement of 12 log cabins 14 ft. square and spaced 14 ft apart.. These families cooperated to defend themselves from frequent Indian raids. I hope this helps those interested in the whereabouts of Charles Culpepper Blair in the years around 1857. 1. [BLAIR-L] HUNTINGDON COUNTY PA BLAIRs
    2. A year or so ago, I found in the "History of Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania" an article about the Broad Top City I. O. O. F. Lodge. I don't have the book, and don't know when it was published, but the article reads: "The present membership is fifty-one. The officers are William PREECE, N. G.; A. J. BLAIR, V. G.; W. J. AMMERMAN, Sec.; S. A. BLAIR, Asst. Sec; and A. HOUCK, Treas." I am interested in the two BLAIR names. I believe they might be Andrew Jackson BLAIR, born about 1851 and Samuel Alexander BLAIR, born 11 May 1857. Both sons of Andrew and Susannah/Susan BLAIR. Is anyone familiar with this group of BLAIRs?

Surnames: Blair, Cochran Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1ME.2ACEB/1859 Message Board Post: I am trying to identify "Captain" Blair, a veteran of the War of 1812, probably from Pennsylvania, location unknown. He had at least one daughter, Nancy J. Blair, born about 1811 in Pennsylvania. She married William F. Cochran in Pennsylvania and had 8 children. The Cochrans emigrated to Lafayette County Wisconsin before 1851. I do not know if Captain Blair moved to Wisconsin or anywhere else. About 50 years ago the Cochran family had a long rifle that was supposed to have belonged to Captain Blair.
