She was Nellie Lee Blair b-January 16, 1896 & her two sisters, Grace Beatrice Blair b-March 21, 1898; Ruth Adeline Blair September 10, 1900. All three were born in Louisville, Jefferson Co. Kentucky and were the daughters of Charles William Blair/1st- Frances Anna Burnett who were married March 19, 1895 Louisville, Jefferson Co. Kentucky. The family moved to Seattle, Wash. in 1909. Now my great-grandmother, Frances Anna came from Nashville, Tennessee, but my great-grandfather Charles was b- November 30, 1871 in Louisville to Charles Blair b-Holland and Mary Harris b-Kentucky. According to my aunt from my g-grandfather's 2nd marriage, her grandmother Mary appeared to be an Indian from a photo she remembered seeing of her. But she said her father hated his mother & apparently destroyed the photo because it was missing after he died. I learned the names & birth locations of these g-g-grandparents from my great-grandfather's death certificate. But at that point, I've reached a brick wall. No one seems to even know if, or how many siblings my great-grandfather had. Bobbi Harrison I saw my tree with many branches.....and I explored it, for I became a geanie seeker.

    2. TOM GREEN
    3. Carol, I can't help you with your Julia Ann Paxton, but can provide some information about the grandparents of General Sam Houston. I am active in the Sons of the Republic of Texas (SRT) and of course have studied Gen. Sam Houston. In fact, his son was the first President General of the SRT. As you mentioned, Elizabeth Paxton was the mother of Gen. Sam, and her parents were Captain John Paxton, who died February 13, 1787 in Lexington, Augusta County, Virginia, and his wife Martha Blair, born 1721 in Ireland, and died August 12, 1821 in Virginia. BLAIR is one of my lines, and the family of Martha Blair Paxton can be traced back to Daniel Blair and his wife Janet Drummond in Ireland. I hope this will help you in some way, and please provide any details about your Paxton line that might help with the HOUSTON family research.
