    3. Hi everyone! I have just subscribed to this list in order to try to sort out my ancestry. My Blair family seems to have been in Hardin Co., KY for several generations. My paternal great-grandfather is James Sylvester Blair (born 1888)who married Lucy Belle Atcher. Information from family members indicates that the father of James Sylvester is John Sylvester Blair (born 1824). It seems that there may be a generation missing -- given the almost 60 year gap between these two. In addition, a wonderful volunteer did some research at the Stovall United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hardin County, and found a John T. Blair (born 1861), and wife Jesse Kendall Blair, -- buried with other family members, causing me to wonder if this may be the missing "link" in the chain. Does anyone have information on my family? Thanks very much! Wes Blair (in Idaho)

    2. John Blair
    3. This has been of our Blair family brick walls. We believe because of a photo held in this family there were at least 2 daughters, a Ruby and Frances Blair, and most likely born between 1910-1920. Extensive research has been done, but we lose the family after 1910....and most probably Alan Newton Blair has died and his wife has remarried, and probably the girls appeared on the 1920 census using a different surname. Here's their last whereabouts. Always hoping for a Christmas wish to come true in my genealogy searches! 1. ALLAN NEWTON5 BLAIR (JOHN WALLACE4, WILLIAM3, JACOB2, JACOB1) was born August 11, 1887 in West Virginia. He married REBACCA J. SIMMONS 1907 in Summers Co. W Va.. She was born April 1892 in West VA. 1910 Summers Co. WVA, Forest Hill District HH 114 Notes for REBACCA J. SIMMONS: Daughter of Mahatha Benson & Elizabeth Simmons, 1900 Pipestem, Summers Co. WVA.

    2. Charlotte Stewart
    3. To the best of my knowledge this book is out of print. The author is deceased. A branch of this family does hold reunions every year and they may be able to help you. I believe it is in AL somewhere. If anyone does find a source for the book., please share it, as I have had a number of requests for copies. I do own a copy of this book and as my time allows will check and see if you family is listed in it. You might want to be aware of the limitations of the work. When Thomas and Margaret came to SC they brought a rather large family with them. The book only traces one line of that family forward for the most part. Recent DNA results are indicating that there are several other SC families closely related to them, however, the research is on-going as to exactly how. Those results can be found at http://blairsociety.org Several of the other children have been identified and a good deal is known and has been submitted to the BSGR about them. However, they are not covered in the book. I hope this helps. Charlotte Blair Stewart, Gen. Chair for the BSGR
