Hello, Have run into a brick wall trying to trace a GG Grandfather. His name is Joseph C. Blair. He's in the US (upstate NY) in the mid 1860's. His pappers state that he is from Hessen Darm Stat, Germany as well as his wife. That's where it ends. How do I go about digging up more info and tracing that branch back beyond him? BTW it seems rather strange that a good Scotsman would get here via Germany. Anyone have any thoughts relating to this? TY, Joe Blair (yep, I'm named after him) _________________________________________________________________ Learn how to help protect your privacy and prevent fraud online at Tech Hacks & Scams. http://special.msn.com/msnbc/techsafety.armx

I am trying to find the parentage of D. Arizona Blair, born about 1885 in Tennessee. She married William D. Blevins in Blount County, TN on Jun 30, 1906 as his second wife. She died between 1920 and 1930. We have been unable to determine her parentage and are hoping that someone working on her family from another angle will have something to tie her in.

"Scatterlings: Blair, Williams & Turner to Texas---1858 to 1873" has been revised and reprinted. It's available on-line at Amazon, Borders and B & N, to name a few. (In March 2004 the book is Amazon's featured regional non-fiction selection, and it's being sold at a 30% discount.) Even if you're not directly descended from the VA/TX Blair branch, you'll find in "Scatterlings" a wealth of contextual color and information about our ancestors and how they lived. Hope you enjoy the book! Rusty Williams
