Yorkshire - such as Wressle, S. Cave and other places - Hi, Freda.......I don't have any information for you, but have you considered posting your query to YORKSGEN-L? If you don't get any assistance from this List, Yorksgen might be the next place for you to try. Pehaps someone there is searching the surname MARKHAM. Also, if you are not familiar with the GENUKI pages, you might find this one useful: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/Misc/Where/index.html There are trade directories posted for many locations, which you can search alphabetically. Blacksmiths are always listed in trade directories, although not ALL of the blacksmiths in a given location. Generally, the chief smith will be listed, but not necessarily those working for him. So, if your man is not named in a directory, it does not necessarily mean he wasn't there. But it is always worth a look. Good luck.......... Donna Edwards-Jordan
