Jinnye, my best friend (and boss) is going thru the same thing. she is trying her best to rise above this, keep her kids away from it and somehow her family manages to bring it to her doorstep. yesterday she was asked by her sister to check on her niece, as she drove up to the house a police car was also arriving, a cousin was trying to force her way in to another cousins house. when my friend , who was the auntie of the two involved was seen she was asked for help with the police. My friend not knowing what was going on found out the girl she was speaking with had a warrant out and she refused to intervene with the officer. the niece threatened her and tried to guilt her. She responded with ........."I am tired of my family embarrassing me and acknowledging me only when they want help. I punch a clock for a living and do so legally, had you chosen to do the same you wouldn't be in this situation ", she is now officially disowned, all members are angry with her and she is the only one who didn't commit a crime. But her point is well made. Choices. Now that they are mad, she has some peace and quiet , and she has needed that for a long time. Out of chaos comes order, and things fall apart so that things can fall together.. THis will pass. Be safe, Be smart and be strong.
