Dear Sheepers, I know I don't respond very often but I read you a lot. You have helped me before & I need help now. About 5:30 this morning I heard my nephew's dog sounding like she was hurt, so I took the flashlight & went out to check on her as she doesn't bark unless she has something to bark about. As soon as I was outside I smelled skunk. If anyone has ever smelled a skunk you NEVER forget it LOL. My nephew is out of town this week. His dog is a sweet natured Blue Healer, but I remembered my nephew said she hates skunks. When it got daylight I washed her off with the water hose, but I hesitate to bring her in the house & give her a bath. She is quite smelly, poor thing. Does anyone have any suggestions? We don't have a washtub or I would use that. On top of this I am trying to pack so I can move back to Florida. Gail in La.

Tomato juice, or maybe vinegar. Also I think their are enzyme cleaners for this situation. You might call a vet, and also you might try posting to some of the pet mailing lists and newsgroups, you can often get a pretty fast answer there from experienced people. Another idea I used to use is call whatever group in your area rescues stray and abandoned pets and finds homes for them.
