    1. [BSChat] what is old legal term for fortune telling?

    3. Does anyone know what is an older or slightly archaic legal term for fortune telling? My astrology teacher used the term in our class discussion about the law in the early 1980's in Buffalo NY, and according to the Internet this law is still on the books in New York though no citation nor reference to the law by its name. It forbids using any psychic practice in such a way as to appear to foretell teh future, and it amy forbid other things as well. I am interested in laws that forbid appearing to have ESP.
