    3. I have to agree...how is it possible that, when I watered my lawn for hours on end last week, that my grass is no greener than the neighbors who have done NOTHING to theirs? Although I must admit that the increased heat over the past two weeks has made the mowing nice--I mowed Tuesday for the first time in 2 weeks, and even then I could've probably done just as good a job with the weed-whacker. But I loooove those nice, neat mower tracks! (I like the vacuum tracks in the carpet, too. Makes it look like I DID something.) Sue G. > I am convinced that lawns are evil. They are a trick of the Dark Side to make us all conform to the status quo. I would much rather have moss than grass. Much softer and far less work. When I buy a house I will tear up the lawn and put in a water garden. Or maybe just a pool. Anyone know someone who builds moats...? > > Calvin B. 3. The greeness of lawns is a factor of LONG term nutrition, grass species, and whether or not the lawn is maintained properly for it's type. There are many types of lawn grasses, and some are seasonally grown ( winter and summer) Some are year round growers, and some are affected by altitude, light conditions, and amount of water applied. Check with your neighbor to see what he/she is doing. Also a LOCAL professional would be able to recommend what actions you should do for YOUR location. -- Jeffery Scism, IBSSG Links to my Homepages: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~scismfam/ Genius- Noun.
