There are at least two major virii out right now making the rounds, I recommend that everyone install and update the latest Virus protection, utilize a firewall ( like Zone Alarm) and use a Spyware blocking program. (AdAware, Spybot, et. al.) NO VIRUSES can get through Rootsweb directly. These Viruses can PRETEND convincingly that they arefrom someone you know. Be prepared, and they should NOT be a problem for you. If you are a WINDOWS user update your windows frequently, usually you can go to the Start button, then SETTINGS, and choose the WINDOWS UPDATE at the bottom.
