Sex offenders in my State (Georgia) are required to register with their local jurisdiction. GA then publishes their address and convictions online. http://www.ganet.org/gbi/sorsch.cgi You can search your neighborhood and find dangerous people that way. I found a convicted rapist living across the street from my (single) mother!!
