Not sure of exactly what he meant, but I can tell you that the reason you hear both Holy Ghost & Holy Spirit in English is that the original translation of the Bible from Latin was into German, and the word "spirit" doesn't exist...however "ghost" does, so that the Holy Spirit (Espirito Sancto) in Latin had to become "die Heilege Geist" the Holy Ghost in German.
